Average Cost of Attendance
First, we awarded points for the average cost of attendance based on the following tuition ranges. Since this article is based on affordability, schools that offer cheaper programs earned more points than those that provide costlier degrees. However, it is important to consider the school and program as a whole before choosing the cheapest option simply for the sake of saving money. Tuition is ranked based on the cost of one academic year of study for an in-state student according to the school’s website; rates for out-of-state students are also provided for reference purposes only.

Next, we awarded points based on each school’s student-to-faculty ratio as reported by NCES.
